The Lykeio Ellinidon Larisas, celebrating 30 years since its founding in 1979, held in a central hotel of Larissa a festive evening for all members, friends and old dancers of LEL, who, all these years, have passed from it and participated in its activities.

During this evening guests had the opportunity to watch a dvd which showed the history and paths of the Lyceum, from its foundation until today, focusing on its successful performances, international festivals that participated successfully and managed to obtain significant distinctions and of course its various activities as part of the effort to preserve and disseminate the wealth of Greek tradition.

So, the quality and the seriousness of LEL emerged in working to this end and the passion and love for all these years and offer in that both members of the board and the teacher and the dancers occasionally crossed the dance groups. The current President of LEL Mrs. Zitonouli spoke of the adversities LEL had to face up until LEL acquired its own building and a rich and valuable collection of traditional costumes and jewelry, but also for the people who selflessly offered their services and worked to overcome these problems. During the evening the first dance team of LEL presented a program with dances from Thessaly impressing guests and proving that there will always be people who will love the tradition, offering unselfishly, passing on and continue the work of the Lykeion Ellinidon Larisas.

It was an evening where the past was associated with the present, the old remembered, the younger learned and everybody, with great emotion and enthusiasm, acknowledged the significant contribution of LEL and they realized that everyone should support in every way a club that honors and promotes Greece, our city, Larissa and their culture and traditions not only within our borders, in a consistent way throughout the years.
